Stockland Lovell camp was fantastic fun as usual, very well organised by Liz Freeman. The showjumping classes were
taken by Richard Ayres with his usual style but managed to get the best out of all of us and I think we all came out feeling
that we had learnt something.
Dressage was taken by Diana Strachan who probably has the least enviable job at camp
having to stand in the arena for several hours with riders who possibly would rather do something else but she manages
all of us with tact and humour and usually gets all the horses going a lot better by the end of the session than anybody expects!
Sally
Gentle did a fantastic job on the cross country course and although there was one unfortunate unintentional dismount, the
majority of us had a good time and hopefully all managed to achieve more than we thought we would. The ground was a bit hard
but we managed.
Saturday night games were well run by Nick Franklin with the usual cereal box game aggressively contested
by many, I'm sure there were several who regretted it the next day though. Prizes were creme eggs so of course the competition
was fierce.
Many thanks must go to Nick Franklin for vet services, fortunately not needed for anything serious, Dr Bob
for first aid, again nothing serious and to Liz for her fantastic organisation. Also to the staff at Stockland Lovell for
the food and accommodation and to all the instructors for their time and patience.
Here's to next year!
