BRC have launched an exclusive new training initiative aimed at the true grass roots BRC member. The days are designed for riders who have never really had a go at cross country riding but would relish the opportunity to learn how to participate correctly with instruction from some of the best trainers in the country. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and riders will be grouped according to ability with each session having a maximum of 5 riders and any jumps used on the day will be at a maximum of 65 /75 cm. All of the dates and venues can be found on the training pages of the BRC website along with a promotional poster with additional information. Riders can download the booking form from the website. Once completed, the booking form must be sent to the BRC Head Office with a cheque for the full amount (cheques will be returned to unsuccessful applicants).

Combinations are not eligible for this training if:

  • They have entered a BRC Qualifier with a Cross Country element at any height
  • Completed any BE event

The people that came said they had a lot of fun and the route was good- noone got lost!

Keep an eye out for the next one :)

Camp was held on 8th to 11th May 2014 at Bicton equestrian centre.

For those of you that have never been we hold Riding Club Camp once a year, we moved it from Stockland Lovell to Bicton (making it a little later in the year as we were 'camping' in the lorries!

We were very lucky with the weather; I don't think anybody got wet in the end!

The teaching given by Becky Kennan was fantastic- I think everyone came away having learnt lots! The all weather arena was spacious and lovely to ride on; gave lots of space for the young horses. The cross country was fantastic with lots of obsticles for all ranges of ability.

The food was cooked for us by the Natty Tatty, it was so so good, they were so friendly and welcoming instantly making us feel at home.

Already looking forward to next year!!!
