Four CVRC members braved the elements and had a super successful BRC Area 19 Winter Show Jumping Qualifiers at Duchy College, winning the Senior 70 class as a team.

Our CVRC team comprised Andy Coad on Christian, Lisanne Mules on Georgie, Becky Kennan on Bosty, and Jane Lavington on Madi. They all jumped beautiful clears in the 70cm first round.

In the second round the fences went up a little, and Becky and Bosty had a very unlucky pole down at the second to last jump. As you can read here, Bosty competed successfully to grand prix level with Jane and, at age 22, this was his first ever showjumping competition – he was probably wondering why there were jumps in the dressage arena!

Our other three riders went clear, progressing to the jump off in which both Jane and Madi and Andy and Christian jumped clear again for 3rd and 4th places individually. Christian is a relatively new partner for Andy and they’ve been training hard together for this event, so he was thrilled with their success.

Lisanne rode a stonker of a round on Georgie for the fastest time of the day but just clipped fence 11 to finish 5th individually.

Overall, our team won the class with a 3-round total of zero faults compared to the second-place team who incurred 12. This means our team have qualified for the nationals which take place at Arena UK, Grantham in April 2026.

Everyone had an absolutely lovely day, and it didn’t rain… too much!
