Our annual joint Fun Ride hosted by the CVRC and the Fourburrow Hunt was held this year on July 31 and August 1 at Trebudannon racecourse near St Columb. The weather was fair, and more than 200 riders were able to access this amazing countryside route with optional jumps and hardly any road work - despite a half marathon going on simultaneously in the area!

A host of volunteers set out the course and jumps, monitored crossings, provided first aid cover and cooked refreshments for hungry riders returning from their adventure. Lisa Wood photography was there to capture the moment for entrants.

The fun ride is one of the biggest fundraisers annually for the club, and we are extremely grateful to Rundle Weldhen and Jo Bryant for allowing us to access this beautiful course, and also to everyone who supported the event in different ways. This year was the first year that the club collected entries and money using our new website, which made the job easier for the admin team. We are grateful to Impress 51 for their admin support near the event.

Well done to the CVRC organisers as well, it was a huge amount of work but a tremendous boost to the club funds.

A few of the comments from Facebook: Thank you CVRC & the FBH for putting on the 2 day fun ride. Great turnout today, wonderful weather, friendly riders and fantastic helpers plus some giant horse flies. - Caroline Chenery
